


At the moment the majority of the cider sold in the UK is mostly made from imported apple concentrate, is full of artificial colourings, sweeteners, and preservatives, is filtered, is pasteurised to render it inert and is kept and served under carbon dioxide pressure.
The White Horse in Hedgerley stocks three cider or perry choices at all times.
The Royal Standard in Wooburn Common regularly has cider , usually Mr Whitehead's.
The Blackwood Arms, Littleworth Common has cider available in the summertime.
The Jolly Woodman, Littleworth Common has cider availble in summertime.
The George in Burham High St keep bottled Thatchers cider and have others available
at their beer festival.
The Stag & Hounds, Pinkneys Green, Maidenhead has Thatchers on draught and has several others available at their twice yearly festivals .
The Bell at Waltham St Lawrence usually have two or three ciders available from
Mr Whiteheads and also Salt Hill Cider.
The Bird In Hand, Knowle Hill usually has a cider available , often Mr Whiteheads or
Salt Hill Cider.
Our branch area is proud to have it's own local cider producer, Salt Hill Cider run by Greg Davies, based in Slough making real cider made from Berkshire apples. Production started in 2008, after good sales and feedback from customers, for 2010 prodution has been increased to 1000 litres.
Salt Hill produces an organic 100% juice naturally dry cider with no additives which achieves a strength of around 6.4 % abv.
The cider is available to local pubs and beer festivals in 25ltr polycasks or 20ltr bag in box.
