Welcome to the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
A new e-petition has been set up to try and persuade the government to bring in legislation which would prevent the easy conversion of pubs to other uses. Such conversions to supermarkets and other retail stores, or demolition, can currently be carried out without obtaining planning permission, which makes it all too easy to lose a much valued pub. Please go to the petition page NOW and sign up! If the petition gains 100,000 sigs, it will force the government to respond.
For details of this and other ways to help with this campaign, please visit the Pubs Matter Website.
The national CAMRA website has been undergoing re-construction recently. As a result, many of the usual on-line facilities are not yet back in operation. Hence, certain links on this (SWM) website to the national CAMRA site are not yet operational, and you will get a message to that effect if you use them. Full service will be resumed as soon as possible.
CAMRA is organising several Super Regional Conferences, held around the country. There is one in Oxford (1st Nov), which CAMRA members are welcome to attend, to learn more about CAMRA and to be involved in various discussions. For more info please click HERE.
