Welcome to the Slough, Windsor & Maidenhead Branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
Planning for the 2015 Maidenhead Beer & Cider Festival is already underway! This year, we are moving to a NEW VENUE: Desborough College - still only 5 mins from the station, along Shoppenhangers Road. The dates are 24th - 26th July. We would love to recruit some new volunteers to help us organise the event... please go to the Maidenhead Beer & Cider Festival 2015 page NOW!
A new e-petition has been set up to try and persuade the government to bring in legislation which would prevent the easy conversion of pubs to other uses. Such conversions to supermarkets and other retail stores, or demolition, can currently be carried out without obtaining planning permission, which makes it all too easy to lose a much valued pub. Please go to the petition page NOW and sign up! If the petition gains 100,000 sigs, it could result in a debate in the house.
For details of this and other ways to help with this campaign, please visit the Pubs Matter Website.
